Real World Photoshop
with Doug Keister
Don’t understand Photoshop? Do JPEG, TIF, PSD, RAW, and GIF sound like words from a foreign language? Do you shake in terror when someone suggests you liquefy, fragment, facet, smudge, extrude or spatter your pictures? Not to worry. Doug Keister has done all those things and MORE to his pictures and he’s here to tell the tale. Doug will be giving two half-day workshops on Real World Photoshop. You don’t need to know a ding-dang thing about Photoshop to participate.
Any piece of software is intimidating and it’s easy to get lost when reading manuals and trying it on your own. Learning Photoshop is really just about getting familiar with a few simple tools. Once you have a little hands-on experience a whole world of creativity will open up to you. Doug uses Photoshop on a daily basis and learns new techniques when he feels it will enhance his work. He’s proud to point out that he neither owns nor has ever read a book on Photoshop (although he does think he ought to have one for display purposes).
During the half-day workshops Doug will explain how to open up pictures in Photoshop, adjust exposure, burn and dodge, crop, resize, adjust color, combine images and more. Ample time will be allowed for discussion and questions. He’ll also make himself available throughout the STW weekend for your questions.
It is not necessary to bring a laptop to the class. Doug suggests that it would be beneficial if students had access to Photoshop or Photoshop Elements (at home) so they can apply what they learn at the workshop.
