Hal Cannon – “Why The Cowboy Sings” (Salt Lake City, Utah)
Hal Cannon is a founder of the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada and has played cowboy music since the early 70s as a founding member of the Deseret String Band. “Why the Cowboy Sings” is a photographic journey across the open West in the winter during a season when cowboys have more time to sing. In addition to the video, Hal and friends will entertain us with a sampling of Hal’s current musical explorations, including Red Rock Rondo, a cycle of songs featuring the history of Zion National Park.
